Visual Artistry has always been an undeniable part of my S E L F. An identity rooted deeply through the lens of cosmic imagination.
I began photography in 2015 when I joined The Beautiful Project as a wayward intern, yearning to rediscover myself as an artist & looking for a community to light the way. In 2019, walking through the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, awed at the sight of 14 of my portraits adorning the walls of this acclaimed institution , I understood my place as an artist. When I started my LLC in 2020 – in response to losing my job of 13 years – I proclaimed myself a professional.
T O D A Y… I indulge my love for photography by sharing my vision of this rose-colored world to my clients. I move my artistry in any direction that feels right and C A L L E D. And I honor my entrepreneurial spirit by extending that vision to those seeking my creative guidance.
I am Ö N W A (igbo) .
Child of the Moon & Visual Creative.
I truly believe that every single human on this planet has something beautiful about them, even if they aren’t always able to see that within or for themselves. My goal is to show people themselves! Exactly and as beautifully as I see them. The name Önwa means moon in igbo, as I am a child of the moon (Cancer ♋️ Energy). When I photograph, what I present to the client resonates as a letter that I am writing to their soul. To their experiences. To the beauty I see that I want reflected back to them. And so I end with ~Love Önwa.
I live in the E T H E R E A L realm. The way I see the world has a rose gold tint with Black lace wrapped around the edges.
